Battery shows 55% health, but real capacity of this battery is higher (around 1700mah real capacity in calibration process)

Can I change FCC manually in reset tab to measured real capacity in calibration process?

 Chip 045a20 is partially supported.

For some firmware versions FCC could not be changed.

By the way there is something wrong with a current, it should show small consumption through front LED but it shows like battery is charging instead.

Disconnect Vbat wire and check if current is dropped to zero.

@djibattworkshop I see current you have noticed, may be at the moment I took the screenshot I was charging externally cells from -P pin to +B

I read it again it is OK

@djibattworkshop I can change FCC with NLBA to real capacity but after a charge discharge process it shows less capacity than tested.

here is screenshot of other similar battery with same chip after a calibration process. Is there anything one can do to improve FCC?

It is similar issue like was reported on Dell bq403xx chips. When cells resistance is increased, chip no longer calculates FCC correctly but with small offset. Then this offset is increased as long as resistance increased. It means EDV compensation constants were not correctly preprogrammed on the factory.

We currently not have the tools to edit these constants on Renesas chips.

The only workaround is to not discharge the battery below 30% then chip should not update FCC.

@djibattworkshop with Dell batteries we already know how to change EMV and EDV values in EV2300. As I understand with 045A20 LGC chip we do not know where that values are located? in case you know where are those values theoretically you could correct that offset.

it is because TI released bqStudio plugin for this chip with advanced parameters editor. Without it the task would be not trivial.

Yes. Even gauging method is unknown. It could be EDV or other proprietary method. Renesas does not provide any software nor documentation for their chips in public. So we dont know what to search and where to search. Like Confucius said, it is difficult to find black cat in dark room, especially she not there.
