i have read the above article and great explanations

my question is

dose NLBA software can do the battery reset after replacing the cells without buying Ev2300 adaptor and BQsw software for specific bq20zxx chip or the above requiremnt is for this chip only bq20zxx

Reprogramming IT gas gauges from BQ20ZXX, BQ30ZXX, BQ40ZXXX family requires specialized software from Texas Instruments and EV2300 or EV2400 evaluation board.

BQEvsw or BQStudio this is the only way to reprogram them.

But NLBA does the most important part to UNSEAL them.

You can't do anything if chip is sealed.

Last night I read here a post about changing FCC parameter, directly via editing the HEX file. But now can't find it! May somebody help me about it.

Changing FCC values with HEX editor is possible for some chips but for some like BQ20ZXXX, BQ30ZXXX, BQ40ZXXX it's not because they use impedance tracking algorithm and must be properly reprogrammed and calibrated just like the one in this topic.

I recommend that you open dedicated topic about your battery and you will receive support there.

Which chips can be reprogrammed by NLBA1 just by itself? (Without EV2300 and such programmers)?

I don't have an EV2300. Can you show me the solution of using bqEVSW with NLBA device.

Hi, im a newbie, i have some batteries that use BQ3050 and im planning to recell them, this tutorial also applies fot that chip?

I ask this because in the RESET tab of the NLBA software i have seen that BQ3050 is treated as BQ20ZXX.

bq3050 is not Impedance Tracking gauge unlike bq20zXX chips. It uses CEDV gauging method and has different eeprom layout. To reprogram this chip one should use bqEVSW_bq3050 software.
