Such training will not help you anymore since you are a beginner. I recommended to you what to do and how to start. Why do you ignore our recommendations? You have everything to start working with most of the batteries but you are looking for advanced and complex stuff from the beginning. Why don't you start repairing first the batteries that have imbalanced or over-discharged cells ? I am pretty sure you have a lot. Get familiar first with them, repair 30-50 pieces then jump to an advance EEPROM editor and replace cells with other cells than the original. Don't jump from the beginning to advance things. You will never learn.

Is this the requirement for every controller or just for some of them?

Some laptops will show exclamation mark at the battery icon in the task bar if Cycle Counter reach certain value. MacBook laptops for example show "Service Recommended" notification in the battery info utility.

But basically resetting these parameters is for workshop waranty cases. How would you treat a battery returned by customer within waranty period if it has many cycles and old production date? How do you know if it was your rebuilt battery or another battery if cycles were not reset to zero and manufacture date was not updated in chip report to date of rebuilding.

Posted by: @remdale

Does the Cycle Count value impact on how the controller is treating cells?

Yes, most of Texas Instruments battery monitors have so called "aging factor" parameter. It uses Cycle Counter as a base for Capacity correction over time. So if cycles were not reset then chip will tend to underestimate capacity of new cells.
