Always include a screenshot with dynamic & static battery data from NLBA in your post for proper analysis also include the battery part number.

Let's find out BQ30Z551 firmware version first so support team can check if your case can be solved.

Go to SMBUS COMMANDS tab execute these commands and paste results here

WriteWord 0x0002 to Register 0x00

So chip checks out as BQ30Z551 v1.09

Keep in mind that this battery model uses NON STANDART 18650 LiHV 4.3v cells. In case your replacement cells are not the same a full dataflash reprogramming will be needed. Unlocking will not be enough for proper operation.

NLBA currently is not able to unseal this chip, support team will contact you soon to check if unlocking can be done by remote session. It will also help if you post the model of your replacement cells.

part number 707615-141

Paste also HP regulatory number which starts with HSTNN letters.

Also paste pack maker from the battery label.

Or just attach good quality picture of the battery.

Also put an original cells marking code.

So, the original cells were Samsung ICR18650-28A. For replace I used LGGBMH11865.

I don't know where to look for pack maker...

I don't know where to look for pack maker...

On same label at the KC sign.

It should be Dynapack Electronics.

Label is not captured fully so its outside.

So, the original cells were Samsung ICR18650-28A

These are 4.35v cells. As was mentioned above, they could not be replaced directly by 4.2v cells. Due to overcharging cells will be destroyed fast.

Reprogramming of battery monitoring chip from 4.35v to 4.20v is complex task which require additional hardware and software.

So it's easier to find out Samsung 28A, 30A, 32A or LGC 4.35v cells for rebuilding.

At present moment bq30z551_v1.09 is not supported to unlock remotely.

May be within a month we will have a solution.
