Hello everyone, I want to ask about how to chemically update laptop batteries? And when should we update our chemistry? I searched this forum, but couldn't find it. Thank you everyone.
How do I know what Chem ID the battery cell I am replacing has?
@tuanduongpc The first thing you have to know there is not necessary to update chemistry ID for each battery (If you are using same brand of cells as you have removed) but some chips must have to be updated chem ID properly. NLBA1 is intelligent enough to tell the chemistry ID from the reset tab->batteryInfo for most batteries. You can send SMB commands from SMBus Tab in reset tab as follows:
CHECK ID CELL for BQ30ZXX
00-0006 ( write word )
23 read block = id cell
If not, then there is a simple method to check the chem ID:
The first thing you have to do is check cell label for brand and cell model (For example, INR18650 M26 LG),
Connect your unsealed battery to the EV2300 and open bqevsw.
Go to chemistry tab and there are several manufacturers shown, each with chem ID
Compare your cell model with each entry and you will find one of them with your required ID.
Update it after selecting it from update button given below in that tab
