Lenovo battery LNV-45N1001 SANYO BQ8030A - How to change capacity ?

Hi, I have one laptop battery from Lenovo, I've replaces the cells and how can I change the capacity and cycle count with EV2300 ?

image

This is screeshot from NLBA1

image

The new cells are from Samsung 35E, 3400mAh and I have a new capacity around 6800 theroticaly, but it remains the same with factory

image

Here I've charged the cells, but i did't disconnect the + wire after charging (2 hours wait), might be a big problem ?

image

Here is my discharge setings, until 2900mV and it counted a new capacity 5867mAh, it is somehow low than the cells can do.

image

Cells check here, around 15mOhms with internal resistance

I've discharched the cells and i've waited for 5 hours.

Thank you.

BQ8030 is not supported by BQEvsw because it doens't have TI firmware.

You can update FCC and cycle count with NLBA reset licence, there is no need to use other software for these operations.

This is only required for Impedance Tracking chips for "Z"  family. BQ8030 is a CEDV chip and 5-10 minutes after charge/discharge are enough.

This is because the original cells and your replacement cells have different chemistry composition and discharge curves so the chip can't calculate FCC properly. In order to solve this you must adjust EDV/EMF values in the dataflash which is not supported by NLBA reset licence.

Purchase NLBA reset licence, use same replacent cells as the original ones, update FCC and cycle count and the job is done.

If not then take it to a workshop that can do the job for you.

Wonder why in topic title you have noted real chip is bq8030.

This Lenovo battery traditionally goes with bq8030a and cant work with older bq8030 due to different authentication mechanism.

@torture I can not replace the same cells , old ones are from 2012 and that's all I have for the moment.

And for one battery a year I can not afford to buy a license for a whole year, the option for "10 days repair" is no longer on sale, will wait untile another method will be free available. Thank you for your time.

@djibattworkshop Just becasue I saw in an other topic, copy/paste it, sorry.

@djibattworkshop

If i post here original eeprom file, can you help me with the changes for 5200mAh capacity and new cells replaced ?

WhatsApp Image 2024 11 16 at 21.51.51 8d9724dd

Now I have 4400 mAh report on NLBA1 and if I change to 5200 will trigger the locked battery.

Thank you.
