New cells don't come with such low voltage.

Charge the battery to 70-80% and post a screenshot from cells check tab.

What brand were the original cells?

Also post a good quality close up photo of the chip.

China clone battery, the chip is BQ20Z90

12379 20230929175158

Go to reset tab and manually select BQ20ZXX family

1. Read Chip Info

2. Unseal

3. Read Chip Info

4. Read Eeprom

After this post screenshot from the intelligent log from reset tab or make a video like in your first post.

@torture Thank you for your help. IC is probably dead now. I touched the IC and it was hot. Bored of the Chinese guys' stuff

the chip is BQ20Z90

it was not detected like bq20z90, so it was reflashed with bq20886 Sony firmware to pass Sony Vaio Bios checks.

This is more than clear.

This model genuine battery does't even use a TI chip.

It has 60020 LGC or SDI and 40020 Sanyo.

That's why it seemed weird and a visual confirmation was needed.
