the battery not charging or discharging and was unlock
Hi, i just got another HP DV4 Battery and is not charging or discharging and is unlock what can b the cause of it.
The reason is that CELL 3 is overdischarged. That's why NLBA even has color coding to draw user attention if something is wrong. In your case cell 3 is in orange color! Charge cell 3 to 3.6v like the other two cell groups and charging will be allowed. Recalibration is also needed since FCC is too high.
ok, should i calibrate it first or just go on and change the cell cos i have one now that i change the cells, and pcb that was china made is not discharging battery. shouid i use this one PCB ON THE NEW CELL BATTEY that i have alredy worked on before.
If you have new cells it's preffered to change them of course since these have already 313 cycles. Change the cells first and calibration comes after.
@torture Hi i have change the cell and did the calibration this is the result. i want to charge it full now. i hope is cool to do that
This is the current state after i have charge the battery a bite. so is the battery ok like this now
Well there is still a little deviation in cell 2 but it's not so bad. Try to fully charge it now.
The other test you can do is to let the cells relax for around 30min ans then start discharging with 2amps for around 20 seconds and post the results here so we can see the voltages under load. This is the best way to analyze cells condition.
1 & 3 are correct. 2 is incorrect since this battery doesn't have SYS pin.
