New Surface Akku fake????
As a first remark, always attach a picture with all parameters from first tab.
It was discussed several times here on forum how NLBA performs the estimation Bad, Poor, Good. As a summary, the internal resistance is 100% correctly computed. The interpretation is the key because it depends on how many cells are in parallel (internal resistance is computed on the parallel group of cells), chemistry of cells, technology, temperature, SoC, etc. The interpretation of new batteries that are LiPo, slim/flat could not be accurate since this new technology has a higher internal resistance, higher capacity, NLBA cannot detect number of the cells in parallel.
So, looking a the capacity, type of cells, number of cells in parallel, I would say 89 mOhm is really good. Anyway, attach a picture with all parameters.
Also do this test:
- go to Discharge Tab
- start discharging with 3000mA
- after 20 seconds take a screen shot

In this picture I can see a working battery. It is not locked and it has output voltage.
Do you want to say that The Surface Pro 5 does not start with this battery ? sorry but I didn't get it.

This battery is made in 2017, 4 years ago. If you look at the cells voltage curves (green and purple) you can see a deviation. The cell2 (purple curve) is better than the cell1 (green). A new battery has voltage curves almost overlapped with a small deviation. Your deviation is about 150mV which is big for a new batter. For a very good (new) battery the cells voltage should have first 2 digit equal under load, like 37xx mV or 39xx mV.
This battery will hold some charge but it is not like a new one. You can go to Calibration tab set charge current to 3000mA and discharge current to -2000mA and perform a calibration cycle. Once calibration cycle is finished you will see the real capacity measured by NLBA device.
