Wouldn't it be nice to have a "button" to select the internal/running laptop battery for analysis, without the burden to take it off the laptop first and attach it to the NLBA. The laptop is talking to the battery using SMBbus anyway, correct? So no need for the NLBA. I understand that most of the functions (like charging/discharging etc.) won't work as this is driven by the NLBA device, but by using the internal battery you could also easily demonstrate the analysis power of your software, hence generating appetite for people to go the next step and procure the product 🙂

The OS (windows) does not offer any access to the lowest part of the SMBus routines. Even if would be possible, charging/discharging cannot be handled using the battery already connected to the laptop. And this is mandatory in most of the analyzer tests. Also, many batteries cannot be unsealed while they are connected.
