BK8030 was made sir system present pin was not installed in it...connected the pin then it was reset
The screenshots I sent you today have two batteries dell with both chips..bq304xx
SMBus chip is not detected, only database chip is shown. The database chip is displayed based on manufacturer name and other static parameters, if a clone battery copies this information then the chip will be displayed as it was used in the original battery while the copy has a Chinese chip.
When the SMBus chip is detected then it is more precise since special identification commands are sent to the chip. In your case both batteries do not respond to the identification commands, so I would say you have chinese chips in the batteries. This could be a reason why reading eeprom does not work.
Are the batteries genuine ? Can you open one to confirm the chip ?
Can you read the chip name from the picture ? because I cannot
@azzido You tell us where the name of the chip would have been written, I would have told you about the post.
A2168 is a chinese chip, bad quality copy of BQ20ZXX family.
You can't do anything with it, can't read eeprom, can't clear PF.
Generally it's a waste of time dealing with non genuine batteries.
Mscomputer: We have to take Nalba's license for one year but I have more copy battery here... now you tell me if the copy battery is reset then we will take the license
