BQ40370 is a CEDV type, it's not an IT gauge.

IT gauges are from Z family.

BQ20ZXX, BQ30ZXX, BQ40ZXX etc..

if BQ40370 is not IT gauge, why 'Impedance Track' and 'Gauge-en' options are given?

bq40370 is ACEDV gauge what is hybrid of IT and CEDV methods. Thats why IT features is available in the software.

so enabling gauge matters or not? noted disabled by default on every battery I checked.

no idea, it is custom chip developed by TI for Dell. There is no detailed information for all its features in public. If this option is disabled on all packs at the factory it was a reason to do it.

specific plugin is required for every chip with respect of FW version to reprogram the chip. bqstudio is software by TI. TI website should be used for their support.
