Hi
Yesterday I received my NLBA device. I have to say I love this device and software.
Since I wanted to start playing with it, I tried to gain some knowledge. I have dead DELL battery (which I don't need ) and I thought I will try to unlock it and test it, just for fun. I accidentally flashed it with wrong firmware
(don't ask how). As I said, just starting playing with it and I really don't need this old battery. Is it "theoretically" possible to unrbick BQ30420 ? Right know there is no output on battery, and I can't communicate with this battery any longer.
It's gone forever.
Thank You. Just as I thought, lesson learned. Thankfully it was just an old unused battery
😀

Some chips like bq8030, bq805x, bq900x with Sanyo firmware have so called "Recovery api" which allows to reflash and restore bricked ICs. But bq304xx chips not have it. The only way is special hardware programmer and engineering software. But recovery probability is quite low and depends which memory segment was damaged.
@djibattworkshop what kind of programmer you are mentioning ? Is it even available ?
Its so called "parallel programmer" which uses some NC pins of controller. TI does not provide it for mass market. Some services although have it for debugging and researches purposes.

I think you want to say DataFlash/EEPROM.
Have you tried Send Command 0x08 ? from Reset tab - > SMBus commands.
show output of this command, run it 10x times with 1s interval
RW 0d
So, communication totally lost.
Chip or Pcb should be replaced.
That's ok. It is nice to play and brick something. That's the way we learn. Thank you guys !
