[Solved] HP JC04 battery won't see all cells after replacing them

Hi,

I'm forced to ask for help since I cannot find a solution, after replacing all cells I have two cells "missing", voltages of all cells are correct at connections (in my opinion at least). This is not the first battery with this problem that I have, I try to solder everything as tutorials says from ground through voltage reading to plus connection but sometimes after replacing cells not all are visible. For the record before cells replacement all voltages were visible.

Thanks

When posting screenshot use NLBA dedicated button. Pictures from smartphone camera are not allowed because they are not clearly visible, thats why screenshot button was created so please use it.

For the record before cells replacement all voltages were visible.

This is most probably because you did not solder ADC jumpers on the PCB properly.

Post good quality close up photos of the PCB.

When measured for example on the other side of the board - voltages are reading correctly.

Jumpers can't be clearly seen from your photos.

Since cells 3 & 4 are not detected make sure you solder jumpers 3 & 4 properly.

It's also not clear but looks like the fuse is also blown.

Oh what the hell, there are like two solder pads and when you solder only one of them there is no connection...

I just forced tin to cover both of them and everything works fine now.

It is typical mistake by beginners and was discussed many times on the forum along with solution. Forum search option is quite useful in such a cases.

I did search for it but wasn't able to find similar problem, most of what I found was bad soldering (no connection) or dead cells. Maybe it would be beneficial to add it to some kind of tutorial or stick topic ?
