Battery Not Recognized on Lenovo - Need Help! T470

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Lenovo laptop. I recently replaced the original battery with a Green Cell battery that's supposed to be compatible. However, when I start my laptop, I get this message: "The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system." Once I'm in Windows, I see another message: "No original Lenovo battery installed. Battery 2: The installed battery is not supported by this system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with a Lenovo-approved battery compatible with this system."

I followed a guide on YouTube recommended by the battery manufacturer (Green Cell), but it didn’t solve the issue. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Are there any software tools or specific steps I can try?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It is counterfeit battery, thats why Laptop does not charge it. You have three options

- purchase genuine Lenovo T470 battery

- rebuild your old genuine battery with new cells. If you dont have enough experience it could be done by specialized battery workshop

- erase Lenovo BIOS White List. If you dont have enough expertise in this area it could be done by specialized workshop
